In all previous expansions of the welfare state, the benefits were immediate and obvious, while the costs were hidden and the damage done was spread across the whole of society. Obamacare, however, creates immediate and visible victims, while purporting to help people in the future. That’s why this is turning out to be a disaster for Obama and his toadies.
