The email exchange was on the Trinity Park listserv a bit ago. A resident emailed Sgt. D. Gunter, the District 2B’s liaison with Trinity Park, to ask about an alert she got regarding an alarming concentration of sex offenders at a particular Durham address. Here’s the original email:
This notice came to my husband, and we are both very concerned. The announcement shows that Carl Johnson, Andre McPhaul and Jalee Beverly, all convicted of either indecent liberties with minors or kidnapping a minor, all live at 219 S. Mangum. It appears very strange indeed that the three of these men, all of whom offended against children, are living together. … Do you know of this situation?
Here’s Sgt. Gunter’s response:
It’s true…they all live at 219 S. Mangum…it would be strange…except for one reason…thats the address of the Durham County Jail.
