Hidden behind the wall-to-wall news coverage of the 9/11 terrorist attacks in 2001 was the revelation that the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency discovered a Cuban spy within its ranks. Today I’ve got a review up at American Spectator of True Believer: Inside the Investigation and Capture of Ana Montes, Cuba’s Master Spy.
Incidentally, author Scott Carmichael’s royalties from the book go to the family of the late Sgt. Gregory Fronius, a Green Beret who was killed in El Salvador in 1987 and may have been a casualty of Montes’s espionage. Fronius’s widow and children all live in North Carolina.
