The Triangle Business Journal reports that an audit released yesterday reveals that the Global Transpark may go bankrupt. It is short $32.1 million it owes the state’s echeats fund and may have to repay $18.1 million to the FAA. This is in addition to the millions of dollars that North Carolina taxpayers have poured into this boondoggle since the 1990s.
That’s a lot of money that did NOT build schools, roads, water and sewer systems or pay police officers.
