Granite state politicians are very upset over this attack on the sensibilities of Americans and naturally the academic left is again making this out to be an issue of academic freedom.
I think it’s just a matter of contract. The prof has a contract to teach a course, not a talk radio gig where he gets to spout off on whatever happens to have his attention that day. If a prof wants to air his opinions about the government and its policies, he should be perfectly free to do so — on his own time.
