Gov. Mike Easley’s press office already has taken hits in recent weeks for accusations related to retention of e-mail records. Those accusations helped lead to the recent public records suit filed against Easley.
Now a senior member of the Highway Patrol blames pressure from the press office for his decision to fire a patrol sergeant without due process.
