Priorities, priorities. Why is it so hard for government to get things in order? Perhaps because there is zero incentive to get things in order.
At any rate, here we have federally mandated-road projects which will likely suck state funding away from higher priority projects. There is simply no way $11.5 million for improvements at Charlotte-Douglas airport is a priority, the airport functions fine as is. But the airport lobbied for the money, and guess what, it got it. Hooray! Just like the lottery!
Similarly, $3.16 million for a Sugar Creek Greenway — nice idea, but more important than widening Independence Blvd.?
