You want your morning bell to be 7:30am. It is better for you, it is better for your kids. Why? Because the earlier the start time and the dismissal time the less chance CMS has to screw something up with the buses. I thought this would be self-evident.
All of the really savvy, smart principals want to start as soon as possible within their transportation zones for this very reason. Like any logistical endeavor, with CMS buses the closer you are to the back-end the more various small glitches build up to ruin your sked. And maybe because my interaction with CMS dates to 1978 I understand that even dedicated CMS employees think that CMS stands for “Can’t Manage [Squat].”
That was me being kind and gentle. Keep this up and I’ll be forced to note all the high-achieving CMS schools with 7:30 morning bells.
