G-Boro uber-blogger Ed Clone questions a description of John Edwards running to the right of Lauch Faircloth back in 1998 and winning.
Can’t say for certain what the commenter had in mind, but it is a fact that Faircloth tried to moderate himself by talking up HMO reform, Social Security protection, and the environment. And Edwards clearly set himself apart among his Democrat primary opponents by being loudly pro-death penalty.
Don’t know what that all adds up to, but it is a bit of history we should not forget.
