Who knew you could have so much soap opera in such a tiny crossroads of a town?
Two sitting Indian Trail council members are being sued by a former candidate for mayor — who just happens to be the wife of one of the council people. Council people who admit having a sexual affair with each other.
Former Indian Trail mayoral candidate Teresa Jacob-Allen has filed an alienation of affection suit against Indian Trail Council member Darlene Luther, the Enquirer-Journal of Monroe reports. Jacob-Allen has also filed suit against her husband, council member Richard Allen, claiming he took more than $100,000 from joint accounts after the couple separated late last year.
Councilman Allen admits to having relations with Councilwoman Luther, but contends it was after he and his wife separated. Councilwoman Luther is also separated from her husband, the paper reports.
What caught my eye is that Jacob-Allen is IDed as the owner-operator of The Bear’s Liar restaurant and bar in the strip mall near Sun Valley High School. Jacob-Allen made something of a splash in the tiny town by managing to get a liquor license and have live music.
