Gov. Perdue has provided a detail about the hiring of former Rep. Bob Etheridge to oversee the state’s “stimulus” money that Etheridge might not be thrilled to have people know. From the News & Observer: (emphasis is mine)

Perdue said she tried to convince Dempsey Benton, the former secretary of Health and Human Services, who resigned last year, to stay on the job. She said several people were interviewed for the post, and that one person turned down the job before it was offered to Etheridge.
