Check out the fax that made a Bank of America branch in Massachusetts think it was getting a bomb threat.
Uh, OK. But you have to squint really hard and maybe hit yourself in the head with a hammer to mistake an internal promotion heads up for a cryptic threat to bomb the bank. And wouldn’t you at least look at where the fax came from, maybe note the BofA logo at the top, and at least wonder if maybe the fax was from someone at corporate?
No. This branch manager calls the cops and a dozen nearby businesses are evacuated. That’s some dangerous stupid right there, folks.
If my business had been disrupted by that stunt I’d be looking for redress from BofA for employing the nut. Then again, if my experience with BofA branch managers is any indication — my bank in DC was bought out by BofA and promptly turned hostile and unresponsive to customers — the guy or gal might be a candidate for promotion.
Bonus Observation: A fax? Seriously. A fax? With clip art? Someone stop 1995, I want to get off.
