The Roanoke Rapid Daily Record‘s quest to support the Randy Parton Theater and the Carolina Crossroads complex continues with this piece on a junket to Branson, Mo. Branson, if you don’t know (I didn’t) is a city much like Roanoke Rapids. It has entertainment. It has restaurants. It has a lake. It has a major road.

Of note:

  1. The article aptly notes that whereas Roanoke Rapids is using the supply-side, “build it and they will come” mentality, Branson developed as a destination because of demand.
  2. Roanoke City officials, who can’t release information concerning the theater and the complex to the citizens who paid for it, apparently supplied all the relevant information to the agents.
