The Dayton Daily Record’s account of Rashad Young’s departure for Greensboro has a very interesting quote from a fellow city official:
“This brother, starting with his upbringing, has been homegrown and bred in the bowels of the city of Dayton governmental infrastructure,” Greer said. “It will be a great loss. However, I am elated that by the Grace of God he has been given the opportunity to enhance and hone his God-given ability and skills in another environment that obviously recognizes his potential.”
Interesting that on the same day Young’s assumes responsibility for restoring confidence in the police department, his new bosses adjourn into closed session during tonight’s meeting to discuss pretty much every lawsuit involving the city and the police department. Too bad he couldn’t sit in.
