For those who missed the article in Sunday?s N&O, twelve artists have been selected to have their art work emblazoned across Raleigh city buses for the next six months.  The City of Raleigh in an October press release issued a preview of how your tax money will be spent:

?Artists whose work is selected for the project will receive a $1,000 honorarium?.?

That?s $12 thousand of your tax dollars for art work to be displayed on city buses. In the wake of the worst economic recession since the Great Depression.  With a $4 billion shortfall in state revenue.  With 10.8% unemployment rate.

Kind of begs the question, this is responsible government spending?  Huh?
