Despite this month’s huge news that the lottery commission had decided on a name for the scheme ? the heartstring-tugging “NC Education Lottery” ? today we learn that the poor Savers of Education can’t find a good name for the Education Lottery’s web site address:

State officials are having trouble coming up with a name for North Carolina’s lottery. All the good ones are taken. Internet-savvy speculators have bought all the logical Web addresses, leaving the state in need of a name that would help get information to potential players.

I’m pretty sure we at the LR could help out. For the children, of course. Here are some suggestions to get us started:

The N&O also reports that “Officials say they would prefer to have a name within a year.” A whole year?!? But I want to blow my cash now! Again, I offer my suggestion on how to approximate the full lottery experience. (It shares some similarity with the one Ham cites below, with the added benefit of eschewing the Lilekian filter.)
