Our friend Chris Fitzsimon over at NC Policy Watch reacted to my Daily Journal piece earlier this week about Mitt Romney?s North Carolina appearances by challenging whether I had accurately portrayed what Romney did to erase a $3 billion deficit without raising taxes.

What really happened, Chris writes, is that under Gov. Romney?s leadership, the Massachusetts budget contained a lot less money for Medicaid, social programs, health care for immigrants, day care subsidies, and many other programs ? while lawmakers refused to rescind state tax cuts passed in the 1990s.
