A week away from the start of school and CMS is still some 138 teachers short. Assuming the system has a firm grasp of its staffing needs — and it may not — the shortfall would seem to be a powerful sign that CMS cannot attract and retain enough staff.
In the private sector that would be a clear market signal to change something about either your pay scale or your working conditions or a combination of both. As current CMS teachers complain non-stop about their working conditions, that might be a good place to try to make changes.
Assuming CMS can do the whole change thing.
