Last Friday night in Raleigh, nearly 200 friends and supporters joined JLF to commemorate the foundation’s 15 years of support for policies that enhance freedom and liberty. Sen. George Allen (R-VA), who was introduced by JLF founding president Marc Rotterman, wowed the audience with his perspective on the growth of freedom around the world and in this country, and the challenges ahead in the U.S. Senate. Following Allen’s speech, John Hood presented awards to two outstanding residents who are tireless advocates in their communities: Joyce Fernando of Wilmington and Michael Holden of the Moore County Board of Commissioners. The night kicked off with some unusual fun as Presidents Thomas Jefferson and John Adams conducted a debate over some of the great issues of their day. The historical interpreters from Colonial Williamsburg had entertained and educated 150 people the night before in Chapel Hill at a JLF-sponsored living history event.
