More hair-raising comments from the pro-abortion lobby. This time, Chapel Hill Mayor Mark Kleinschmidt speaks against a possible legislative ban on coverage of elective abortions in town health insurance plans. That’s right — elective abortions. From the News & Observer — I encourage you to read the entire blog. (emphasis is mine)
The bill, House Bill 910, would ban elective abortions from being included in county and municipal healthcare plans. Abortions in the cases of a medical emergency, rape, incest or to remove a dead, uborn child would be allowed.
“It’s just outrageous … this really impacts our ability to provide for our employees and when you start messing around with employee benefits, it’s a slippery slope,” he said in a phone interview. “How much more control are they going to take from us.”
So evidently elective abortions are just another service the town is providing for its employees. Such a deal — vacation, tuition assistance, parking, direct deposit, elective abortions.
Heaven help us.
