Another optometrist has testified this afternoon that she never intended for her bank checks to be turned over to a state lawmaker she did not know.

Rebecca Wartman testified that in 2002 she turned over 10 checks — each for $100 — to the N.C. Optometric Society’s political action committee. Wartman says she intended for the committee to use those checks to support political campaigns.

Two of those checks were made out to “Mike Decker.” Former Rep. Michael Decker is one of the key principles in the N.C. Board of Elections campaign finance hearing today in Raleigh.

Wartman says she does not know Decker and that she never intended that her personal checks end up going to him.
