Could this be the work of the Dr. McHealthy Fruit & Nut Complex, as some local residents wonder? Recall David Murdock had the city yank Dale Earnhardt banners because they clashed with his taxpayer-subsidized research campus. Is losing Christmas in favor of Winter actually a parade cost and downtown merchant issue, as city officials claim? A Saturday parade messing up downtown traffic too much but a multi-day “festival” does not?
