I watched the video below of Raleigh’s U.S. Rep. Brad Miller at yesterday’s meeting of the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Capital Markets, Insurance, and Government. The ostensible reason for the meeting was to discuss AIG, the retention bonuses and other matters relating to the bailout.

As you watch this, keep in mind that Miller and every other Democratic congressman except Heath Shuler voted for last month’s $787 billion economic-stimulus legislation that contained the infamous Dodd Amendment protecting the AIG bonuses.

It may be hypocrisy or chutzpah, or a bit of both, but give Miller some credit for not running for cover like all the other North Carolina Democrats who voted for the stimulus bill — and therefore the AIG bonuses — without reading it.
