For all the politicians who mouthed the assertion that creating a lottery would reduce pressure for tax increases for schools ? and for that smaller group of politicians who may actually have believed the assertion ? here?s a reality check c/o the Greenville Daily Reflector:
GREENVILLE ? While money from a state lottery will help fund school construction, local officials say it is not enough and are still hoping the Senate approves a referendum for a sales tax increase in May.
There will never be ?enough? money for government schools. Remember that.
