The Polk County Commissioners are scheduled to hold a public hearing on proposed changes to their subdivision ordinance. Of course proposed changes address building on steep slopes and other green fads. They also suggest lowering the minimum lot size, indicating the predictable rise of pragmatism in tight economies.

County Planner Cathy Ruth . . . said the [UDO] committee has included a separate property owners’ association section to protect property owners; this section was added because of recent incidents of subdivision owners going into bankruptcy.
