How else to explain that CMS can incent 30 teachers and administrators to leave 20 FOCUS schools for other FOCUS schools — and $20K bonuses if they stay three years — and have the Uptown headline read: 7 struggling schools gain 30 top teachers.
This is the musical chairs version of educational reform. It is not fooling anyone. The goal is merely to general headlines like the one above and advance the illusion of improvement among those who want to believe Pete Gorman is doing something.
I eagerly await the presser on the replacements for those 30 teachers.
