Whoa. That would be news.

But evidently CMS has some 71 teachers at four low-performing high schools on “action plans” that could, in theory, lead to firings. One of the schools is West Charlotte where, you’ll recall, there have been reports of mass sick-outs by teachers out looking for other jobs. So this all fits together.

As ever, stay tuned.

Update: Ann Doss Helms has more on the CMS teacher shifting in advance of the vital end-of-course tests. Interesting datum: CMS has 81 teacher slots unfilled. Only half, 41, are at high-poverty schools. I would have thought the number would be higher for such schools.
