Torpedo or trial balloon?
Don’t know what to make of the leak naming retired Navy admiral Barbara McGann as a semifinalist for the CMS superintendent post. Such is the state of CMS and the school board one must immediately begin to parse motives and dig beneath the surface.
Is this news supposed to ease us into McGann? Smoke out opposition? Rally opposition to a candidate outside the standard educrat framework? Again, don’t know. And we don’t — can’t really — know if McGann would be a good fit for CMS. The board has repeatedly stiff-armed any attempt for public input on their — their, dammit — selection process.
All that’s left to do is wait, hope, and wonder. That and go to work. Gotta pay those taxes somehow.
