The City Council’s Public Safety Committee approved a permit allowing Occupy Winston-Salem protesters to camp out in a parking lot at the corner of 7th and Marshall Streets. The full council will have to sign off on the permit during its Monday night meeting. Wonder how they’ll vote.
Downtown business owners and parents of a nearby daycare expressed concern about the campsite. Committee members said as long protesters remain peaceful, all will be good.
