What if you spent $421,000 on a TV show no body watched? You’d be Mecklenburg County.

WCNC’s Stuart Watson does the heavy lifting of answering the question — does anybody actually watch The Mecklenburgers? Answer. No. At least none of the people paying for it and to whom it is directed.

Watson cites Nielsen ratings which show that no one in the county watched the damn thing. Yet Jennifer Roberts still defends the show. Unreal.

Yep, the county must be flush with cash. Remember that the next time Parks Helms starts talking about a tax hike. Some of us have said for years that the show must go.

And now — for all intents and purposes — the premiere of The Mecklenburgers in Mecklenburg County.

Update: County PR maven Danny Diehl, an “executive producer” of this mess, paid his kids $225 per episode to be on the show. Diehl thinks this is a great deal for county taxpayers. Of course.
