It is official. Coyote Ugly will not be moving to North Tryon.
The owner of the space, Stefan Latorre has torn up the lease he had with the Coyote chain, with their permission. Latorre cited the extreme negative reaction to the move in a release today, which also noted the “negative comments, unfair criticism and inaccurate characterizations” of Coyote by the bar’s critics.
Latorre says he’s looking to market the space to another bar-restaurant. We’ll see about that.
Meanwhile, what did Latorre receive — if anything — in exchange for going along with what the Uptown crowd wanted? Ponder that as you chalk another one up for the Center City Partners juggernaut.
