Let’s give the N&R credit where credit is due. The paper now allows comments comments on articles posted online, and one reader spoke up about the newest addition to the fledgling Mayo River State Park:

Thankfully…the over-burdened taxpayers of North Carolina will not be stuck with paying for this portion of this “needed” state park, as millions in Tar Heel tax dollars have already gone for this endeavor. This is important, as new tax increases are on the way from the Democratic-controlled NC government in the wake of yet another billion-dollar budget short-fall and less-than-expected revenues from the NC “Education” lottery. Just another liberal pig at the taxpayers’ trough?
