As I’m saving up to pay off my last seatbelt ticket ($100), I had one of the drug dealers on the end of the street grab my door handle as I passed as if he wanted to come inside the car. I wonder what could have happened if the door had been unlocked and I had my government strapped around me. I didn’t file a report. The officer would have looked at my record and seen I had been cited twice for no seatbelt and stopped for failing to signal for a lane change. Then, he would ascertain that I had not been restrained when the dude tampered with my car and impeded my peaceful progression toward my house. I’d turn out to be the bad guy. I flashed back to the day when two major accomplishments by activists for causes considered immoral 10-20 years ago made headlines. The news broke for a commercial with a “cop” in a commando voice saying Big Brother was watching, and we all needed to Click-It-Or-Ticket.
