Triangle Transit General Manager David King just told Scott Fitzgerald of WPTF that yesterday’s House vote, which approved giving Wake, Durham and Orange counties the right to put a half-cent sales tax for transit on the ballot, is a “legislative milestone.” Here’s what occured:

The House gave its final approval Wednesday to legislation that would allow voters in Forsyth, Guilford, Wake, Durham and Orange counties to decide whether to increase local sales taxes by half a cent and car registration fees by up to $2.

As I write this, King is touting Charlotte’s rail system as a model. Really?

It’s coming, folks, despite all the data.
