After Labor Day. Back to four flights a day, which was the same level as summer 2009. Currently, they fly CLT-JFK twice a day. From June 10 through September 7, it goes down to once a day though.
What’s behind lower flight levels this spring and summer? Well, one of JFK’s runways is closed for repaving, which limits the airport’s capacity. Time will tell though whether four flights a day is a year-round figure or if Delta will reduce CLT-JFK flights in future summers to free up slots to offer more seasonal European service.
Bonus route prediction: If/when the Delta/US Airways slot swap gets approved, it would not come as a surprise if Delta resumed CLT-LGA service.
