A few weeks after Mayor Anthony Foxx took a new job with hybrid bus fabricator DesignLine, Samara Foxx leaves her controversial $100,000 job with Mecklenburg County’s Department of Social Services. Foxx joined DSS in July 2008, filling a position which had been posted for applicants for a few hours.
This situation left the strong impression that DSS Director Mary Wilson had created the position expressly for Foxx. The pair had worked together previously.
