Yaeger: “Duke was playing one-move chess. They didn’t know where the game was going to end. There was no thought. There was just reaction.” Can’t say they did everything wrong.

Question: If Nan Keohane had been president and Jim Hardin had been DA would the situation had been different?

Pressler: “I can’t say, but I can tell you that if Tom Butters has been athletic director things would have been a hell of a lot better.”

Question: Can you give a critique of the media?

Yaeger: (Pressler deferred to him on this one.) I’m a part of the media so this is awkward. Says if you have a prosecutor saying these things it’s hard not to go with the story. But as the story unraveled, some, like Nancy Grace, “continued to say the very worst about these kids.” But he understands how a dishonest prosecutor can “take you down a rathole.”

Question: Have you followed the blogs, LieStoppers, KC Johnson, etc.

Pressler: Says he really didn’t want to read much of anything early on but said he liked KC Johnson because he put his name to what he wrote.
