The Meck Deck’s Jeff Taylor wondered whether or not the Charlotte Observer would run Kathleen Parker’s column on Mike Nifong.

No word yet, but the N&R has it in addition to Thomas Sowell’s column:

The disbarment of Durham District Attorney Michael Nifong should be just the first step in remedying the gross and cynical fraud of last year’s “rape” case against Duke University lacrosse players.

Not only is Nifong still liable to civil lawsuits from the three young men whose lives he tried to ruin, and criminal prosecution for his obstruction of justice and making false statements to a judge, there are many other people who disgraced themselves in hyping a lynch mob atmosphere when this case first broke last year.

But N&R readers also get an interesting (to say the least) bonus observation from Greensboro’s Michele McMillan:

Mike Nifong should never have had to step down as district attorney. He did what he was elected by the people to do. I wonder if we will go after all attorneys who have prosecuted innocent men and take their licenses….

These Duke boys were inconvenienced; they don’t have a clue about having their lives disrupted. In a few years, this will be forgotten. I say give Mike Nifong back his job. We need fair men like him.

Note the comments below McMillan’s letter. I’ll let them do the talking.
