The legislature in the great state of Arizona has determined to stop treating its citizens like little booboos. Just speculating, the leaders may have been in awe of the mystery we call life, and they cried to see so many people living below their abilities, so depressed and all. Heeding an adage that I just made up, “If you want them to stop acting like babies, stop treating them like babies,” they decided a one-year safety net should be long enough for the able-bodied and able-minded to get their act together after a brush with bad luck. Arizona wants to be a bright and shiny state where everybody can choose a direction and achieve high, not a mopey place for whiners playing the victim. I’m just speculating.
