North Carolina has its first toll road. If traveling near Raleigh and relying wholly on GPS, beware:

There will be no booths collecting money, so tolls will be 15 cents a mile for those with wireless transponders and slightly more if the state bills by mail. Cameras above the road will snap license plate photos to bill people by mail.

You can get used to riding on the road for free. The state will begin collecting tolls January 3. Can’t you just see some frat or April Fool’s prankster stealing the road signs?
