Buncombe County’s web site won the highest Pinnacle Award from the National Association of Government Webmasters.
The county’s website won top honors in the High Population category, for organizations with a population over 150,000. The award cited the website’s “clutter-free design, and incorporation of translation services and mapping features. The Buncombe County team focused on citizen interactivity by providing online access to many traditional government services.”
The moral of the story, then, is to keep business to line-item codes and ten words or fewer. Glom big dollar amounts, and do not itemize expenditures. Focus on details like instructions from the Ag Extension on how to fix your own sandwich.
