The Herald-Sun of Durham, which runs separate columns of mine in the Sunday edition occasionally and the Chapel Hill Herald weekly, has been sold to Kentucky-based Paxton Media, a family-owned company that owns 28 newspapers in several states and a TV station.
In addition to the Durham paper, Paxton already owns six daily newspapers in NC: the Enterprise in High Point, the Daily Courier in Forest City, the Daily Dispatch in Henderson, the Enquirer-Journal in Monroe, the Sanford Herald, and the Lenoir News Topic.
What else do all these papers have in common? They all run my column. It?s a Festivus Miracle!
