Linwood Wilson, Durham DA Mike Nifong’s chief investigator in the Duke lacrosse case, has his own problems. Turns out his record as a private investigator before being hired by Nifong, is not pristine. In one case, he was charged by a client with not doing the work requested. The client showed a Durham magistrate evidence that Wilson billed her for shadowing her husband at a boarding house. Problem was, the boarding house no longer existed at the time Wilson said he was tailing the hubby. Pretty clear-cut, huh? Not so fast, Gonzales.

At the hearing, she says, Wilson produced documentation that he had surveilled her husband at a boarding house that no longer existed when the investigator said he was there.

Still, a Durham magistrate found in Wilson’s favor.

Maybe someone needs to investigate Durham’s magistrates.
