Attention all Durham County residents who voted NO on the 1 percent prepared food tax: You obviously didn’t understand what you were doing or you would voted FOR it.
That’s the word from Durham officials on the trouncing, 72 to 28, of the tax hike.
And, like so many local officials who have an unquenchable thirst for more money, they vow to try and wear down the public.
Proponents say they may begin working to reintroduce the tax as soon as the next few months.
And so it goes.
