In addition to additional funding for the Teaching Fellows Program, the Public School Forum will receive recurring funds ($4.4 million for FY 07-08 and $7.1 million for FY 08-09) to administer their Focused Education Reform Pilot Program.

According to the budget, “The pilot program will incorporate targeted professional development, after-school programming, teacher recruitment and retention bonuses, principal achievement bonuses, teacher mentoring, and science and math instructional assistance.” This description is rather vague, so I hope details of the multi-million dollar program are forthcoming.
