Well, sort of.

Nobody seemed to bat an eye when Clinton shill George Stephanopoulos took over David Brinkley’s ABC “This Week” gig on Sunday morning. Same goes for former Democratic operatives Chris Matthews and Tim Russert. Nobody bats and eye. Imagine, though, if Ron Ziegler had taken over as “Face the Nation” host after leaving the Nixon White House. It’s hilarious to even contemplate, and Ziegler’s boss was never actually impeached.

But Democratic and liberal bias in the media can cut numerous ways. Just look at the way Stephanopoulos mercilessly grilled North Carolina’s John Edwards this morning. At first you might think this is actual objectivity — until you remember his affiliation with the Clintons. He’s supposed to be a journalist, but it’s obvious he’s still working for Bill and Hillary. This will come back to bite ABC if Steph doesn’t reel it in.

We can all look back and laugh at those who said Stephanopoulos’ appointment as “This Week” anchor was some benign occurrence. Now we know better.
