*Looks like Greensboro will continue to have a representative in Congress — Alma Adams wins the heavily Democratic 12th District primary. Adams will go on to face Republican Vince Coakley in the November general election;

*Not a good day for Guilford County Commissioner Bruce Davis, who loses to Laura Fjeld in the 6th District Democratic primary, or former commissioner Skip Alston, who was handily defeated by incumbent Gladys Robinson in the N.C. Senate District 28 race;

*Rep. Pricey Harrison — way ahead in the money race— easily defeats former Greensboro City Council member Jim Kee in the House District 57 winner-take-all primary;

*Davidson County voters approve a quarter-cent sales tax hike to fund a new high school;

*Former WSFCS superintendent Don Martin upsets incumbent Mark Baker in the winner-take-all Forsyth County Commissioner District B Republican primary;

*Initially surprised at the margin of victory by Kay Cashion over former fellow commissioner Kirk Perkins in the Guilford County Commissioners’ at large race. But if think about it, Cashion was able to leverage more Greensboro votes, while Perkins is a McLeansville sorta guy;

*Davie County voters approve school bond referendum;

*Rockingham County alcohol referendum passes; voters approved the operation of an ABC store within the county’s jurisdiction, mixed beverages in hotels, restaurants, private clubs, community theaters and convention centers.
