American aid to Africa consists of more than just questionable taxpayer-funded “development.” People attending today’s John Locke Foundation Shaftesbury Society meeting learned about Embrace Uganda, a private effort with no government funding.

Paige Holland Hamp explained the origin of the program, which grew from her family’s efforts to adopt a 2-year-old orphan. In the video clip below, Hamp explains how others have become involved in the project.
