The North Carolina Child Fatality Task Force is a legislative study commission that brings together agency leaders, legislators, and experts in child health and safety to examine the causes of child death and recommend policies and funding that can save children’s lives. From recommendations that address teen driver safety or smoke detectors to those that address the opioid epidemic, premature births, or teen suicide, Task Force efforts have resulted in a long history of bipartisan advancement of policies to reduce child mortality. In this presentation, Executive Director Kella Hatcher will discuss the organization’s history and mission.
