The US House minimum wage bill exempted American Samoa from – which
will become the only American territory not covered by the minimum
wage. North Carolina’s pit bull, Patrick McHenry, questioned the connection to House Speaker Pelosi’s San Francisco district.

What struck me though was this quote from Illinois Rep. Mark Kirk,
“My intention was to raise the minimum wage for everyone. We shouldn’t
permit any special favors or exemptions that are not widely discussed
in Congress.”

I thought there was no pain in the minimum wage – more people get
work at better wages. Why would Kirk suggest that exempting a company
from the minimum wage is a special favor? [sarcasm meter: high]
